Richard Robinson

Licensed Builder, Director

With over 16 years of building experience gained on own home renovation projects as well as occupational work, I have a broad range of practical skills and knowledge picked up over the years. This has included carpentry training at Weltec, which led on to an apprenticeship at a construction company based in Lower Hutt. As well as the technical side of things, care and attention to detail, and making sure clients were happy with the final result is what I took away most from my time there.

A trade qualification in carpentry came as a result of those years, later followed by Licensed Building Practitioner status in carpentry. For those unaware of the LBP scheme, it provides assurance that a builder has the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out building work. It's also a platform to promote and support the development of professional skills and behaviour.

The time eventually came to end my previous employment and start a new chapter, and so City Builders was formed.

From the outset, our intention is to make sure clients are comfortable and confident in choosing us as their choice of builder. Good communication is key to this. We are reliable and conscientious, going that extra mile to make a project successful for the client, and as stress free as possible. We are all about good service, quality workmanship, and attention to detail, which is what our attitude and reputation are based on.
